While Voy and I were away on holiday our neighbors moved. This is VERY good news. They were the kind of neighbors that liked to complain about everything, they would only talk about themselves, they owned yappy Chihuahuas, they were chainsmokers and she had a very unhealthy collection of dolls.
They left behind their cat. He's mainly an outdoor cat but you could tell he was distressed. Waiting to be let into the house more than a week after they had gone. He's the kind of cat you wouldn't want to touch. Sores and visible scabs, dirt and fleas running rampid all over his fur. (this was his condition while under the care of our neighbors)

I had a chat with one of the guys that has had the privelge of cleaning out the house next door......
He told me the took a 10 gallon bucket of bleach to the ceiling and walls with a pressure sprayer and then litterly "hosed" out the entire house. You could see where the pictures were hung on the wall by the white shapes that were left behind. They went to clean out the fridge and a pile of magotts spilled out when they opened the door. (they ended up buying a fridge for the owner so they wouldn't have to clean that one out) He also asked if they owned any dogs, complaining that they couldn't get the smell of urine out of the grout in the tile floors.
It took them more than a week to make that house liveable again and it sounded like it was one step away from being condemmed. This is where this poor cat lived.
Elise treated him for fleas and gave him a new collar a few days after he was left behind. The sores on his face have cleared up and his coat is now shiney and soft. I hope whoever moves in next door likes cats because he still sleeps in front of the front door.
The way those people lived blew my mind.
